Did I get an amazing deal on an iPad Pro?

but that wasn't the question, it was whether it was a "great deal" based on what others may have paid for similar used ones etc.
I think his point is, "to what end?". Other than the self-gratification of having gotten a "great deal" that cannot be replicated by others, why do you care if it was good or great and why share it with others?

That out of the way, personally I think it's cool that you got it at such a great price and don't have a problem with self-congratulatory posts; they tend to disappear pretty quickly anyway.

By self gratification you mean finding out what others paid and if I paid considerably less then yes, I agree I would get a gratification out of knowing I paid significantly less than others, which was the point of the thread. I also agree with your second point about congratulatory posts even though this wasn't intended to be one. People freak out over them and its more out of jealousy id assume. As I type this I see 5 similar threads being suggested to me asking "did I get a good deal"

Given that the iPad Pro came out 11/11, almost anywhere someone could have purchased it from has a holiday return policy in effect until 1/15 or so. I would ask yourself why someone would take a $400 loss on something they could have returned for full price before you arrive at the realization that there's a very good chance it may have been stolen.

Because if you actually read through my posts I mentioned MULTIPLE TIMES that I was shown the apple receipt matching the serial number on the box and ipad pro itself. I met with the gentleman in person and was a corrections officer and very down to earth individual. Im pretty sure he wasn't aware of the holiday return period since it was given to him by his wife for Xmas. Why does everything always have to be stolen when someone gets a great deal on something? Always trying to discourage those who came up on a deal to make themselves feel better about paying full price. Next time READ THE POSTS before jumping to a conclusion.

This thread will be closed soon. Your arrogance shines brightly! Let other people respond instead of this back and forth mockery over "good deals" nonsense.

Says the guy who started posting less than 2 months ago. I don't need any more responses, based on the jealousy and rage that others are exhibiting towards my post it must mean I didn't get a "great deal" I got a TREMENDOUS DEAL!

And the 2 month comment matters why exactly? His opinion and insight is inherently worth less because he wasn't a registered user as long as you? You must be older and, therefore, more intelligent because you've been on MR for several years?

Clearly, this thread was created as a form of self-validation. When you didn't get the response you had hoped to receive, you resorted to childish remarks and personal attacks. Next time, maybe you should just post " hey everyone, I got a great deal on XXXXX. Keep searching your local craigslist for similar deals." Also, try not to get too bent out of shape over a few comments by anonymous individuals on the internet. This only further exemplifies your immaturity.

I actually couldn't care less. You can see by my post history that I don't frequent here much at all so the opinions of a couple members really don't bother me in the least. I don't need self validation. I knew it was a good deal. You all just validated that its a tremendous deal, and I think all you members for that. God bless.

The iPad Pro haters on this "Apple" forum are pathetic. I swear its just a bash-n-whine forum from other camps.

It isn't a "feel good" thread. I was curios to know what others had paid for an ipad pro either used or new through a sale or what not. You see my forum join date? Ive been browsing and contributing to these forums long before you probably even owned your first mac. I knew I had gotten a "good deal" based on the simple fact that it was almost $500 under retail, but that wasn't the question, it was whether it was a "great deal" based on what others may have paid for similar used ones etc.

Well I guess I only paid about $600 for mine brand new as I had racked up $633 dollars from using my Discover card + Apple Pay for holiday shopping/vacation. ;) Oh how I wish that 10% cash back for using Apple Pay was still active ;)

Since you got a good deal definitely add Apple Care+ the oow repair prices are about $600..

Definitely will. Posts like yours is exactly the type of feedback and experience I was looking to hear.
