I can try and preorder it as a dev on the Developer site for $1 apparently...interesting
Really, priority is for devs with apps published already though...really?

I am not a developer but I wonder if they will use HTML5 to develop apps which run poorly (netflix, hulu, youtube example) or will they use there iOS TV development code. I hope all apps run iOS native please no HTML5.
UggghIt's a combination of some custom javascript/html and native Xcode: https://developer.apple.com/library...uagesUtilities/Conceptual/ATV_Template_Guide/
Why ughh? The template is just for the front end interface and is probably optional, considering you can have game apps that obviously won't be using it at all.Ugggh
We can and will use both, depending on project.I am not a developer but I wonder if they will use HTML5 to develop apps which run poorly (netflix, hulu, youtube example) or will they use there iOS TV development code. I hope all apps run iOS native please no HTML5.
They run poorly, and don't have the same robustness, e.g. ability to recover from streaming glitches. Why ughh? The template is just for the front end interface and is probably optional, considering you can have game apps that obviously won't be using it at all.
Does that mean those apps with be iOSTV native and be different for the Apple TV and not universal UI like the other devices? I hope so.Rewatched keynote, and netflix, hulu, hbo apps all appear to be native and dropping the html5. So less uggh.
