Did I Install Xcode 4.3.1 Correctly?

Have had Xcode on my Mac for several months now. The new version (4.3.1)
came out and I downloaded it and tried to install it. However...unlike the previous version...it comes up differently. This time when I click the icon on
the menu bar...a hard disk icon appears on the screen followed quickly by a gui with a single Xcode icon in it. Then the Xcode interface comes on the screen.

The previous version simply put the Xcode interface on the screen after I clicked the icon on the menu bar. Sorry if this seems a little nitpicky but its got me really curious.
