You can also finally change the category type for the screensavers, so, for example, only play the underwater ones.
I most likely will. I enjoy the content so far. hopefully they have a yearly sub model.
This can't be right as a matter of technical specification, because they also announced 4k Airplay from the photos app.Won’t be AirPlay. AirPlay tops out at 1080p.
Awesome! You can also finally change the category type for the screensavers, so, for example, only play the underwater ones.
Actually, I think they spent more time on Apple Homekit Webcams than they did on the whole tvOS 14 section.
There was a brief section on tvOS14, but it was over in what seemed like less than a minute.

That’s probably because whatever big features there are for tvOS 14, will rely on new hardware. Like iOS and watchOS, the September event reveals a lot more new features, the most high profile of which are announced with the new iPhones and Watches.
Multi-user profile will apply to game-progress, so if you switch profiles you'll each have your saved-game progress separately.
Apple really needs to work on profiles better. Profiles should be the first thing you see when you turn on the ATV. And it needs to work with all apps that have profiles. If not then we need profiles to include all Apple services. Namely, photos and Apple Music.
That's something else I've been looking for. Any idea what the different categories are?You can also finally change the category type for the screensavers, so, for example, only play the underwater ones.
I'd guess that 95% of households wouldn't have multiple profiles on their AppleTV. Having it in the drawer isn't perfect - but given the other constraints of the interface, I don't find it too bad. I'd actually assumed that switching profiles would have accomplished what TVOS14 claims to provide (switching game progress) but removed them when I found it didn't. Guess I'll re-enable my family members when it's available so that Apple Arcade and other game progress is siloed between users.
What about for kids that don't have their own Apple accounts? I should be able to create user accounts that aren't tied to Apple IDs. They should have their own dashboard layout, "Watch Now", etc.I would be surprised that a household that has an Apple TV doesn’t have multiple iPhones, iPad, Macs...etc. each of those other devices have their own TV app, photos, music, games profiles.
I am surprised if the person setting up the ATV and is the “owner” of Apple family sharing, don’t get a prompt to “do you want to set up family profiles on this ATV?”
Apple dropped the ball on that. Also tvOS needs iCloud backup.
