Did my G4 die?

G4 DA 533 1.5 ram x10.4

No chime at startup. Start button does not stay lit. Red light on motherboard. Fans run but no harddrive activity unless I disconnect the ribbon cable. Tried battery reset, reseating EVERYTHING, and starting without ram. NOW WHAT?
 
Well, you definitely can't start without RAM. I think sometimes if you incorrectly set the hard drive jumpers, you might not get a chime... though I don't quite remember if that's true.

Did you recently adjust/install a new drive, or take one out? Make sure it's set correctly to either Slave or Master.

You also might try replacing the ribbon (ATA) cable on your drive.
