Sticks and Stones

You don't need to be a dick.

Oh my . . . We've resorted to name calling

Don't know where that came from. I do, indeed, prefer physical activity over sitting on front of a TV. That's why I didn't recognize the TV character mentioned. Nothing more, nothing less.

Back to the point -- sounds like you had a problem with your iphone4. I remember reading that a number of people had issues with the 4 and the proximity sensor, but most didn't have any issues and those who had demonstrable problems with the 4's got them replaced.

To your question, no proximity sensor issues with my 4S. Works fine.

I can't speak for everyone, but most people I know had some sort of issue with the 4's proximity sensor, me included.

The proximity sensor on the 4S is MUCH better. It's a little too early to call it a victory, but it's very good at least.

Thank god its apparently fixed. I had an original iPhone 4 from launch day and it didn't happen. I swapped it under warranty, and then I started getting the mute button pressed accidentally all the time, etc. So annoying. Hopefully this is indeede corrected in the 4S I now have.
