I think its made my system slower.

a 20 minute iMovie in 720P to export took 20 minutes in Snow Leopard, in Lion it takes around 50 minutes.

'Preview' program isn't working properly, when I crop a picture it just crashes or it puts bit great boxes over the picture and ruins it.

'GrarageBand' lags quite a bit now.

Positive side, Word, Safari and Outlook for Mac work better. I think Lion needs fixes to get it right.

Quad Core Painfully Slow

My 4 month old MBP Quad Core is running REALLY slowly after installing Lion. Do you think I need a clean install? How do I do that?

i did upgrade from lion, not a fresh install. seems the same. the only difference i've noticed is during restarts. maybe like 3 - 5 secs more cause i get a double apple logo screen flash. i'm thinking its cause im on an external display and it detects that.

Well, I didn't expect a clean install will make the boot time faster even by a second. It really doesn't matter in a real life. However, an overall performance in the actual OS, such as Open GL, seems to be a lot faster IMO.

I'm pretty surprised that the poll is somewhat close to 33.33% each.

On my 2.5 c2d mbp, Lion (simply updated from SL) felt quite laggy sometimes in MC, and especially with multiple programs active.

Cleaning up the registry indeed did help a lot. Feels pretty good now.

Safari: Snappier!
