At first I thought it was really weird (before I owned one, from just trying it in the apple store).... but, after I bought my iphone3g I got used to the keyboard within about 30 minutes or so.

Now, I couldn't be faster. I had a TytnII otherwise known as an At&t Tilt with a full keyboard, and i type much faster with my iphone than I ever could have or did with the Tilt.

So, yes.... I got used to the iphone keyboard and love it.

Best thing about it, is that I don't have to apply pressure to type.... unlike manual keyboards.

ive had the iphone 3G since day 2, july 12, and i type with just one thumb.

i try the two thumbs and cant get it down.

i guess i was used to only using one thumb on a standard phone, you know...
THE ONES WITH PHYSICAL BUTTONS!!! 18 OF THEM!

It pisses me off when my friends say: "iPhone suck because its keyboards are too hard to type on." How can they make that judgment after only using the phone for like 1 minute? It takes a while to get use to, but once you do its much better then any other mobile keyboards that i have used. All my friends which have iPhones agree with me that its a good keyboard.

You get used to it pretty quickly. I never learned the whole thumb-typing thing because it's the complete opposite of typing on a real keyboard. I don't need to type a dissertation on a phone, so I just use one finger. The whole keyboard is about 1.5 inches wide, so it's not that hard. Today, I actually typed "appointment" without even looking at the keyboard, so it is very doable to learn how to type fast.
