Received my MacBook (1.2 500 Gigs) two weeks ago... Absolutely love it... Made my MBA 13 feel like a heavy stone... Retina screen is awesome... Believe El Capitan will put the finishing touches on the base software... I had issues with Apple photo software on MBA & those same issues show up here too... In the process moving 12,000+ pictures into the MacBook & loading them (1/2 gig files) is slow... I had similar issues with Apple photo software on 13" MBA & those same issues show up here too ... This process heats the laptop up, but had the same issue with the MBA... Once it just shut my MacBook off... I expect photo editing to work just fine based on my limited trial runs... Key board works great, slight learning curve... Only ran out of battery once, during the transfer of the 12,000+ pictures (300+ photo folders), not sure why moving them from a thumb drive to Photo emptied my battery, other than that the battery last all day...

Overall this runs better than my MBA & iMac & again looking forward to El Capitan...

its an amazing laptop and i really considered the gold one but as a graphic designer, one port isnt enough for me. I usually have my mouse connected and atleast an external hard drive.

And no magnetic charger really killed the investment. Ive probably tripped on the cord around 15-20 times a year. The magsafe really saved me alot of money. lol.

Had to go with the macbook air atleast for now. Maybe next year Jon Ive doesnt forget to put the ports. lol. i really liked Tim Cook's response when he said Steve Jobs would kill you! But really...how do you forget? Maybe he was tight on deadline or procrastinated to the last minute.
I have been a Mac user all my life. I have had many, many different Apple products. This one is the best. I has made my iPad obsolete. The single port is easily manageable.

I can second that (One of the best Macs to date). For MS Office Suite, media consumption, file management, etc. I have no issues. I'm very impressed with this little fan less wander.

I've been using mine as my primary system with a multipart adapter and USB hub. I don't care for all the port either, especially when I'm on the move away from my home. The only thing I really would use away from my home that needs to plug into my rMB is the charger. Anything would likely be running off bluetooth.

Another fun fact is its awesome being able to use nearly any charger now as long as it's USB-C. (within reason). It stinks not having magsafe, but it's an acceptable compromise.

My Mac Mini has been getting less and less use. Even when I'm sitting at my desk.

It feels weird typing with the Magic Keyboard now ;)
