That's one item that I always change to something else during the new user setup, then the file sharing name (which is the computer's name on the network), then the local hostname. Just my opinion that none of of those should remain the defaults at the whim of the OS X system. Those are MY names, so I change them. :D
I just think it's a little goofy to see a name on the network like "Billy's MacBook".
I prefer "The Abyss" - but that's just me :D

I agree. But it does get confusing when I look in the bonjour device list... ;)
