The only way I'd go with white is if there were NO borders at all around the screen. White borders are way too distracting for a video screen which is why the vast majority of tvs and monitors are black. I used to have a Sony Vega tv and found even the silver/grey borders distracting.

In the Apple ad I noticed they demo the white model against a white background and with the screen mostly white. Imagine a darker background while watching a movie where the white borders really stand out and think if you would like seeing that all the time. But to each his own.

I was going to go with just 16G but with the new retina display it seems another $100 for 32G might be justified. Besides, if you really have to store a large number of HD videos there's a streaming wifi 500g hard drive available. I've got tons of pics, music, and some vids stored on my iphone4 and it says I still have 20g free out of 32, so that was a waste. I might start using my iphone as a computer backup instead of the other way around.

The new iPad

I just pre-ordered the 32 gb black wifi.
I really like the white, because it looks better, I think, but I think it might distort the contrast and brightness. I plan on using my iPad for a lot of watching movies and tv-shows. How often do you see a white television? It just doesn't go well with video. White looks better and stands out, but it only stands out because its not normal to use white. And why? Because black is a better fit for this type of device.

As for the 4g--I really wanted 4g, but I have to be at least a little conservative with my money. It was a 32gb wifi, or a 4g 16gb. And I had to ask myself what I would use more. And its most definitely the memory.

Most places I go have wifi, and the things that I can't get through wifi are what I would want to store on the ipad.

I had an ipod classic with over 100 gb of space and I kept most of it filled with a few gb free. IDK, I like having my collection with me. Plenty of movies, a good bit of music, and plus I listen to podcasts and audio-books and I like to have a good range of choices to choose from.

I have noticed that a lot of people seem not intend on using the ipad for much music and such, but I do intend of using it for that.

Although, I think I could live with a little less music and audio. The real reason for more space is that I want HD content and it takes a lot of space.

What I haven't decided on is whether to get a pen to use on the ipad, a key board, or what case to get.

I could use some advice in those areas.

UPDATE:3/14, I decided to change order to 32 GB LTE BLACK. I got to thinking, and decided on LTE. I don't have a phone, and while I may not need it all the time or at first, I want the option to be there. Since I usually have wifi, I can stream videos and tv shows with those, but still have a small data plan for surfing the web and communication. Whats the point of a mobile computer such as this if it doesn't have internet? If I had an iPhone, i wouldnt need it, but since I don't, I think its worth the investment.

What I am really distressed about is whether not getting a white iPad was a good idea or not. White looks amazing, and I can't help but wonder if maybe its not as bad as ?I have read. IDK

Ordered a black 16GB WiFi only. I'll mainly use mine for web browsing with a few apps thrown into the mix!

I was jumping through hoops as well regarding to 16gb or 32 when i was placing the order but man i cant justify adding a $100 for 16gb.

16gb should be fine, im not going to sync music anyway, its just for apps and games :) movies are on netflix so its all streamed.. no prob there,

i would love the freedom of 32gb but i dont see it worth $650 after tax just to get more space, $540 for 16gb is more like it :D ;)

Try not to think of it as just $100 more. You're getting double the space for only $100 more.

$500 divided by 16GB is $31 per GB. $600 divided by 32GB is $19 per GB.

Going to 64GB will save you more but that is just too much regarding price. I think 32GB is the sweet spot.
