did anyone here trade in their old iphone today?

i was curious to see what value people were getting at the apple store for them.

verizon was gona give me $100 for my iphone 4 16gb white, i declined and will try to cl it for a little more than that.

I went to Best Buy and they offered me $148 for my 4s :p

Politely said "no thank you" and will simply send it to Gazelle by Oct 15th for $225.

The saleswoman at the AT&T store offered me a $400 Beats by Dre Bluetooth speaker for my iPhone 5.
I said no, and hope to make a bit more than $400 selling it on eBay.

Trading in used iPhone at Gazelle, Gamestop, Apple and AT&T is a huge ripoff! You're better off with craigslist or eBay.

No, sold my launch day iPhone 5 16gb (factory unlocked) on craigslist tonight for $440. Sold in 3 hours, was satisfied with the sale.

Trade in is convenient. But expect to get way less than your phone is worth. Businesses need to make money and all that.

I priced it out through Apple's PowerOn program online. I got a quote for $220 for my black 32GB 4S. I think that's pretty good considering Craigslist in NY is flooded w/ iPhone 4S ranging from $150 - $300.

Getting £170 (just over $270) from a phone recycling company for my 4S. Could possibly get a bit more on ebay, but minus their commission / paypal / hassle I'm happy enough.

I got $204 dollars for my iPhone 4S 16gb at the apple store. Thought that was good.

Damn it! They gave me the same price for my 32GB 4S. But thats ok. I stil got a 32GB 5C for only $6 out of pocket after that.

That's the problem with the in-store trade ins, they don't or barely take into consideration the capacity. But they will charge you $100 more for the new phone with the next capacity higher.

Verizon offered me $325 for my 32GB Black/Slate iP5. I declined and just sold it on eBay for $460.

$460 eBay is,net of $400-415 after fees and shipping?

Agreed. Time is money. My plastic surgeon buddy did amazon trade in cause its not worth his time to try to get an extra $50 from eBay or Craigslist.

Depends on your hobby. We anesthesia guys have a lot more time on our hands. I like selling on Craigslist. I get a thrill out of it. Even though my wife thinks I may get killed doing these deals. I do always meet in public place.

Let us not forget another advantage of trading in is that you get to keep your charger, cables and headphones. The cost of replacement cables ain't trivial. It's like getting a spare for free.

eBay takes 10% of the sale, then you have shipping charges and you don't keep your cables and headphones. I don't need that hassle. Plus I don't want to have some 72% buyer rated knucklehead win it and file a dispute that it arrived all scuffed up.

Verizon gave me $360 for my iPhone 5 64gig and I'm fine with that.

I normally sell on ebay. This time my 16 year old got my iPhone 5 and i sold his iPod touch 5 on ebay. Got $230 for it with a dint and scratches. 32gb no lead or ear buds.

Traded in my 32GB Verizon 4s at the Verizon store for $210. I didn't think that was bad, especially considering I had put a scratch on the glass in the past week that was driving me bonkers.

Trade in? No way. I'll keep my 32GB 3GS as a backup. Should something happen to my 5c I'll be back in business after a quick trip to an AT&T store. I also have a 3G that was the backup to the 3GS.

We traded in my Fiancee's 4S directly to our carrier (O2) here in the UK. The phone cost her £100, had a few marks on the screen, but was working fine. They sent a prepaid packing box, wanted no cables, charger or earbuds, and gave us £170.00 for it.

Now just have to sell my pristine 5 complete with AC and I've nearly financed my new 5S!:)

On Launch Day, wandered into the AT&T store and they offered me $310.00 for my 32 GB iPhone 5..... Done deal and I walked out with a 64 GB iPhone 5S. Happy camper here. No fuss, no muss. And, yes, it was nice to be able to keep my Lightning cable, earbuds and so on, too.
