Order placed March 21st with an estimated ship date of April 4th/5th. Ship date is now showing April 2nd/4th but is now in "preparing to ship" status.

Does that mean I'll get it before April 2nd? Anyone have an iMac order ship yet?

what I'm trying to figure out is are these going to be intentionally held back or do you have an ETA of tomorrow for arrival? I think once it ships, it's 2 days to get it since they move these pretty damn fast.

They won't be held back most likely. It isn't like an iPhone/iPad/Watch launch. Mine when ordered had an ETA of April 1-3. UPS said it will be delivered on Thursday 3/28. I had to push it back to the 29th due to my schedule, but yeah chances are yours will show up before the initial Apple estimate.

THANKS! Good to know your original ETA. I was going to order as soon as it came out but sat on it for 24 hours and times slipped back to 5th. If your ETA bumped up, mine should as well. Hoping to get it on Monday at the latest so I can have it for work next week.

[doublepost=1553621013][/doublepost]My order was in preparing to ship for about 14 hours. It switched from processing to preparing to ship around 1:00 pm EST yesterday. Then I got a tracking number and “shipped” at 4 am EST (email receipt I wasn’t awake lol). It’s still sitting a UPS clearance center now where it has been since 6:30 am. I’m hoping it will be loaded on a plane soon.

My original dates were April 4-8 and the UPS choice delivery projects April 2 as delivery day.

I’m from Australia and my BTO 27” iMac changed from 4/2 store collection to 4/1 once it switched from “Processing” to “Shipping” today.

Update:

Apple said April 3-5, then changed it to April 2-4 and now it's shipped with 4/2 delivery but that's based on customs. I'm wondering if I get it 4/1 which would be a nice surprise.

Will do but have to be later. Still setting some bits up and copying files back from external drives.

can you run some benchmarks for userbenchamrk.com for the vega 48 to be able to compare vs the RX580?

I am more interested in temperatures than geekbench.

Though some research I have been doing the 9600K doesn't run much cooler than the 9900K.

That's one of the things I'm waiting on. The other the vega 48.

I'm amazed how everyone is going right of for the i9. Still wondering if it's worth the extra £360. I really wonder how apple charges you that price when the chip is only really £240 more at retail value difference.

Congrats! Which courier did yours come by? And did it come from China or Ireland? :)

As far as Apple markups go, that's quite mild. Look at the RAM markups! (And that has the alternative of self-install, whereas the processor they could really screw you on if they wanted!)

i9 is the most future-proof option for people who do work on their machines with the only concern not being price but cooling. If it doesn't require too much more fans to run and you can swing the money, it's a very easy upsel.

So looking at some charts I found the other day, while the i9 is also 95W, they say it runs over 120W

Scheduled for Friday 3/29 delivery to my home, near Los Angeles. iMac was sent from Shanghai China to Oakland and now is 2/3 across the country in Memphis Tn! Sure seems a strange routing! Geeesh! Lol
