Did your Apple.com preorder that was confirmed June 24 change to July 2nd?

I posted this in another thread, but it's looking like there may be issues with a June 24 receipt date for some pre-orders according to AT&T:

Mr. Siegal at AT&T attributed the difficulties to unprecedented interest in the iPhone 4. Demand was greater than on preorder days for earlier versions of the iPhone, and “today was the busiest online sales day in AT&T history,” he said in a statement.

Mr. Siegal did not say when the ordering problems would be fixed, but he did say that customers who preordered an iPhone 4 Tuesday afternoon were not likely to get their phones on the 24th.

I felt compelled to respond to this post as I have not seen anyone with a later purchase time than me. I had trouble all day trying to order, eventually getting through. My order time was 10:33 PM Eastern, 7:33 Pacific.

The order online says Ships: Delivers on June 24th. I got my email confirmation at 12:57 AM this morning. It says Ships: Delivers on June 24th. I think, and this is just an educated guess, that the ship date changed within minutes, if not seconds, after I completed my order.

Depends on what time they ordered. I believe if the order were placed after 1PM EST, then the shipment date was changed.

1 pm ? Doesn't seem like too many orders were able to complete before then.

Mine finally went through at 6pm CT and status still reads June 24th. Hope it stays....

Wow, didn't know calling someones blatant false statement fail was so rude. Of course he later said he was just relaying info he had heard from others which is fine..... but when you make a statement which is so proveably false at least attribute that statement to those you "heard" it from. Just saying.

Very strange. I wonder if the system became a "Russian Roulette" type of ordering process in which some got a June 24th delivery date and others did not. I just spoke with a buddy of mine who ordered his at 10:45 EST and has a July 2nd ship date. Or perhaps it could be the location in which you are ordering from or having the phone sent to?

I placed my orders around 9:20 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. last night. I received the e-mail confirmation for the 9:30 pm. order around 11:30 p.m. last night, and I received the e-mail confirmation for the 9:20 p.m. order around 5:20 p.m. today.

Both did and still say June 24th as the delivery date.

I ordered mine at like 4:30PM PST and I got an email and charged and it says the 24th.

Btw everyone. I don't think anyone goes into the system and actually changes the date. My guess is it's totally automated and that once a certain number was ordered it jumped up to projected date (which is def overshot to protect themselves).

Im almost positive that most people who are seeing July 2nd will have their phone before then. That's Apples motto. They under-promise, over-deliver.

Never received an email. CC still hasn't been charged.

Order status wasn't updated till today, but doesn't show anything other than In Progress.

Not sure when I'll get mine...crossing fingers. At least I know it's coming.

Yeah, as your sig says: I reject your reality and substitute my own. If you think I was being rude you are too sensitive. If you think I was "piling on," I don't read 100% of the posts in a thread before I post -- who has that kind of time or desire?
