I always assumed that current mile meant the average pace for the mile that you were currently in (so if you're at 5.5 miles on a run, it would average your pace over the last 0.5 miles) and that Rolling Mile was the average of your pace for whatever the last mile was (so the average between 4.51 and 5.50 miles in my example).
It seems like they are usually quite a bit different, so today on my run, I looked as I hit the mile marker. At 4.99 miles, my Current Mile time was 9:41, and my Rolling Mile was 9:57. It stayed that was as the mile market switched to 5.0 miles.
At that point in the run, shouldn't the two numbers be the same (or at least very close)?
Thanks in advance,
