    Hey there!

This is the first time I'm on this forum, and I could use some help.

I currently work at a photography studio, and we use DROBOs to protect our client's photos. Right now we're using 2 Drobo 5Ds, but we want to upgrade into an 8bay Drobo. On the market I can see there is a Drobo 800i and a Drobo 800fs. I read a lot of information about both, but I'm not understanding what the main difference is. Can someone help me with understanding the difference between them? Thank you in advance!

You want the 800fs. The 800i is iSCSI which your Macs won't even connect to without additional software, and if you're not doing virtualization or other special case uses it's unnecessary to spend the extra $$$.
