Is there a difference between a Mac going to sleep based on Energy Saver preferences, and clicking the Apple>Sleep menu item?

Whenever I click to sleep, my Wacom tablet will sleep too, but if the Energy Saver preferences kick in, the tablet will stay awake (LEDs will remain illuminated), and stay that way until morning.

    Oh, what an embarrassment.
Seems I dragged the "computer sleep" to Never when I had to render a massive file from Final Cut, and forgot it that way. I thought the computer was in sleep mode, but only the display was asleep.
    Solved.
