Difference between the old and new airport extreme

I am about to buy a used airport extreme, the new one with simultaneous dual bands, but how can I tell if the person is lying to me and selling me the older version?

I looked on the internet and both versions are visually identical. He has nothing set up so I can only inspect it visually. Any thoughts would be great...thanks!!

Get the model number.

The new one is MB763LL/A

The units have the model number stamped on the bottom, that's how you tell. When u go into the airport utility it also is a bit different.

so all the new models will have this number no matter what right? unless a new model comes out im assuming?

Yes. When a new one comes out, it will have a different number.
