iPod touch Difference between two charging icons

I have a question about the charging icon on the top right corner of the screen.
Here's the first one:

And here's the second one:

What's the difference between these two pictures? The icons seem different, but they both look the same... 😕

This is new knowledge for me. Never know that a plug sign over the not full charge battery means that its plug in with no charge.

This is new knowledge for me. Never know that a plug sign over the not full charge battery means that its plug in with no charge.

It usually means a charger is being used that isn't powerful enough to charge with the correct voltage or that it's plugged into something that is unable to charge, or that there is a problem with the device and/or charger. For example when I plug my iPad into my car stereo it doesn't charge but will still send an audio signal to the head unit.
