No, because Apple is finding small, seemingly arbitrary ways to drive us all insane.

You mean Macrumor forum members are finding small, seemingly arbitrary ways to drive us all insane lol.

The chargers being different means absolutely nothing. They both cost the same price to buy, they do the same things, they connect the same ways.

but somehow!!!!

people find a way to make it a big deal.

Alright... I am not keeping my sport that I will get tomorrow. I will sell it when I receive my SS in June.

LOL. At least some people on here still have a sense of humor.

EDIT: even if accidentally. I'm not actually sure if this post is serious but I take it as sarcasm.

I was serious that I would not keep my Sport. It was because I hated the look of it after the try-on appointment (I had already preordered the Sport as soon as it was available to do so). Then, I placed an order after the appointment only to find out that the SS version will come in June. It is just one of a million reasons now that I do not want the sport. They do not look good on my wrist with brown skin somehow.

I usually leave my iPhone Lightning Cable/Charger plugged in all the time next to my bed...do you think its safe to do that with the Watch charging cable? I don't know much about how these chargers work.

In terms of the difference, the outside material is just cosmetic.

I can confirm the charger that comes with the sport is all plastic and the spare charger to buy is half plastic half metal

My only problem with it is its hard to tell which way it the right way to put it on. :( Bring back the little square from the 30 pin dock connector!

Are they the same exact size at least though? I bought a Spigen stand and I'm not sure if it'll work if the size is even slightly different.

Size does appear exactly the same. Looks like sport has its own charger and the spares are the SS chargers

Ok, well, more metal than the one I attached above, that's for certain.

All the watch charges are plastic on top where it meets the watch.

The premium models have metal bodies as do the st d alone charges while the sport is all plastic.

Apple even went that far to help diffirentiate the models although I kind of like the sports packaging. Almost as much as I like my SS one's packaging.
