Difference in Safari cookie settings

Can someone tell me what the difference is please, between two iPhone cookie settings: "accept cookies - always" vs. "accept cookies - from visited"?

I think it means that accept cookies always also accepts cookies from another site linked in the original page, like an advert on google.

I'm not a 100% sure on this but this is how i've understod it.
