Different blue dot after app is updated?

Don't know for you guys but I thought that I was crazy. I thought that I have seen slightly different blue color dot but I didn't care that.

Today I updated and now I'm seeing three different blue color. From light to dark blue.

So is lighter blue for minor update and darker for bigger?
What do you guys think?

The lighter the color means more time has elapsed since the update was installed.

Dark blue means it was just updated.

The dots will go away when you open the app.

Looks more like the dots are semi-transparent and are picking up the color of the wallpaper.

Hmmm... Apps have been updated at the same time. I clicked update all.

You are right!
If you move the icon you can see the blue dot change color a little depending on the wallpaper.

Odd. Guess I'm wrong about them. I only see them as different shades of blue.
