Different Blue Sports bands?

I have a dark blue sports band which I got either with my series 3 or 4 - is this different from the series 6 blue?

42mm and 44mm bands will fit a 42 or 44mm watch. 38mm and 40mm bands will fit a 38mm or 40mm watch.

Not perfectly. My 42mm bands jot out a bit on the edges. Especially on the sport loop

Is your band an official Apple band or a third party? A 42mm band and a 44mm band are the same size - the different numbers refer to the screen size of the watch, not the body size.

When the screen size changed for the Series 4 from 38mm to 40mm, and from 42mm to 44mm, the body size did not, which is why each size watch is backwards compatible with the existing bands.

I had a seashell sport loop from the series 3.
On the series 6, the sport loop ever so slightly hangs out.

It's backwards 'compatible' but it's not exactly the same. the geometry changed a bit between generations.

38mm Midnight Fog sport loop on my 40mm series 6. It fits perfectly, there is nothing “hanging out” at the edges:

For comparison, here is a 40mm Lilac loop:

Can you shows pictures of what you are talking about because all the bands fit perfectly on mine.
