plug it into itunes and click restore. maybe itll be better. if something goes wrong like i think you said itunes doesnt recognize it, then take it to an apple store and ask them to confirm if its a real iphone or not. sounds like its totally not. i mean really, apple would never put a pushable vibrate switch, if u had it on vibrate it could switch off in your pocket.

Not for nothing, but the goddam switch they have now still turns itself on and off in my pocket, so.....

I don't think theres much question at this point it's a knockoff of some form or other

Tulip: your phone is a fake. It is not an iPhone.

ETA: I missed the post where you said it played java games. That confirms that it is a fake beyond any doubt, since no iPhone plays java games.

I am also afraid

you won't be able to get to much help, if any support in this forum! it's not a Iphone so a Iphone forum won't be much help. good luck glad you are still happy it plays Java!

There is no point to this as I suspect there is no phone to begin with.
What possible reason would somebody have to start up a fake discussion asking for help with troubleshooting a nonexistent device? Are there really people out there who have nothing better to do with their time than play mind games with well-intentioned nerds? (I am a self-professed well intentioned nerd.)

ok here is the pics << sorry it's not in good quality

It is obvious just from looking at the main screen that it is not an iPhone. Observe the following anomalies:

1) The App Store icon is labeled "Resource" instead of "App Store."
2) The text app is labeled "Text" instead of "Messaging."
3) The iTunes app has an incorrect icon.
4) The YouTube app is labeled "Videos" (presumably because it doesn't do YouTube)
5) There appear to be two anomalous icons in the status bar.

You have a cheap Chinese-made knock-off. It is not an iPhone, and cannot do the things an iPhone can. We won't be able to help you further. Sorry!

Genuine vs fake

I'm looking to buy the 3GS Apple iphone with 32GB but am having a hard time trying to differentiate who I should buy from. I'd like to get an unlocked one so I don't have to sign up for a plan but I'd like to get the genuine one. Found some on Craigslist but I believe alot of the sellers there are scams and I may not get my phone after payment. I don't wanna buy from Ebay as well as I can't tell which are genuine. When I send an email to enquire, they all tell me their phone is the genuine Apple iphone. How can I be sure? Has anyone heard of or bought from the website shluxe.com?? The company's name is "Prices Deluxe" and claims to be based in the U.K, and are selling the 3GS 32GB APPLE i-phone for US$400. Can somebody tell me if they can be trusted?? Please help, anyone??

Compare that $400 32GB 3GS to one you find on Ebay.

There's no way you're going to get a top of the line iPhone for $400. If it looks too good to be true, it is.

Thank you

Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll have to look elsewhere if I want to get a genuine one.
