You guys said the same thing that I found but did it a lot shorter and I did it exactly that way but I still have the same problem. It did change all of the pdf's to Acrobat and now that works with Acr8 after it is downloaded but all of the new ones in Safari still refer back to Preview. Would it have anything to do with Safari being in Rosetta? Is it safe to delete Preview or is that a bad move?
Thanks,
cal

preview is a core program so that should speak for its value.

its an easy way to convert image formats and is much more than a PDF reader.

I would not because even if you do, your not gaining allot of space back. (less than one song on iTunes).
