Is it possible to set a different password for Apple TV than my Apple ID password?
Reason being I want to install it Ona family members tv but don’t want them to have access to my Apple ID.

easiest would be to enter it myself at their house but they are quite far away so have to send password (same country though)

Set up an Apple iCloud Family Sharing - create an account there for all Apple TV content. This is what I do for my family. Family members can see Apple TV content and play it.

There are negatives to this tho, so if they're not your immediate family, then don't add them to your family, just create an account where you buy all your Apple TV stuff and give them the username/pw to that iCloud account.

Thanks guys I’ll have a good look at this tomorrow and update

Just sent an invite via Family Sharing. Turned off everything except Apple TV Channels?

so do they just have to login via the app their end with the mobile number I sent it to? Will they have to create an Apple ID as they are Android users

They will have to create an Apple ID. Is this for:

1. Apple TV app on a smart TV
2. TV App on iOS or Mac OS
3. Apple TV device

With family sharing, you can share certain features, like TV Channels, which is basically AppleTV+ subscription. This does not include purchased music/movies.

If you chose to share your purchases [of music, movies, etc.] they will not appear automatically in the family member's library. They will have to go about and find the content themselves, i.e. in the family sharing purchased section...
