    Hi

With the the latest ATV2 update Netflix enabled CC/subs. Ive previously ripped my DVD's, both TV and movies and included softsubs using both the built in function in Handbrake but also Subler. I was always a bit dissapointed how the ATV2 displayed softsubs with a big grey backdrop across the entire image and also different sized depending what type of aspect ratios that were used.

I was positively surprised when I noticed the subs inside Netflix displays correct (according to me) with to grey backdrop and the same size no matter what AT. Sure, some titles uses only caps and some use 3 lines of text when displayed but still, it looks good/better.

Can anybody explain why this is different and does anybody think you could make the "netflix subtitle" style doable using handbrake or subler with srt files?

I was going to say Netflix uses closed captions, but it doesn't looks like it does.
Maybe when you enable subs it just send you the video with hard burned subs.
