iPhone Different Vibration when in Messages App

Does anyone know how to change the vibration while in the Messages App? I have a custom vibration set up for text messages, which works fine whn the phone is locked or I am in another app, but when I have the messages app open it defaults back to the regular text vibration. Does anyone know how to fix this? I would like it to use the same vibration I set up, or even no vibration at all if I am already in the app.
