I'm trying to hook up a 2nd VGA monitor to my G5. The second video port is ADC. I've been told an ADC to DVI adapter connected to a DVI to VGA adapter will not work.

So far, every ADC to VGA adapter i've found has been discontinued. No stores seem to have them. can anyone suggest a solution?

They appear on eBay occasionally, but are like hen's teeth, I'm afraid. (I managed to pick one up for a work machine about 6 months ago, but had been looking for several months before I got lucky).

Your info is correct btw - stringing ADC>DVI + DVI>VGA adaptors doesn't work. I've tried it.

You could scour eBay for a cheap VGA graphics card to add to a spare slot, but rankly, I'd be inclined to pick up an inexpensive DVI screen - they've gotten an awful lot cheaper recently and will give a sharper, more stable image than VGA (assuming that you're using VGA-equipped LCD screen).

Here's one...not sure if it's worth $266 though!

Also the search for them on Amazon...

I have one of these (don't ask why) if you want it?

I've never had the chance to use it, for obvious reasons so no idea if it still works.

I'm guessing your american so if you could pay the postage cost id be more than happy to give it to you for (technically) free :)

yeah, that's just the opposite of what I'm trying to do. i need to go from ADC to VGA, not the reverse.
