My iPhone X developed a few issues (dust under camera, intermittent touch problems, and random restarts) and I wanted to obviously get a replacement for it. I called up and was told the best they could do outside of getting a Genius Bar replacement (which I’m not too crazy about) was to ship in my phone and they’d send me a replacement back as soon as they could, though couldn’t tell me how long that would be. He mentioned that I could speak to a local Apple store and have them hold one for me, but when he transferred me over to one they refused, saying they were unable to do so for a number of reasons. I tried reserving one online, even checked on the dot at 6am, but none ever became available. Thoughts on the best way to handle this?

Go to the Apple Store. They have a certain number of phones set aside just for people who got defective iPhones.
