    Hi,
My first post on this website. I'm so impressed with how
    a) clever and
    b) helpful people are! So thank you in advance.

I am trying to move my iPhoto library to an external hard disk.
I know how to do it (grab the folder, drag it to the hard disk...).
But now it keeps saying "unable to complete the move because file xyz is locked." It says the same if I try to copy and paste the Library rather than Moving it.

The first few times this happened I just unlocked the offending file. But it kept saying it so I fear that there will be thousands of these files. Each one is called something like-
    E0C7FD98-CD24-11DC-BFBC-0014512893F8-174-0000001609E71794
    and they are
    unix executable file
which I have never heard of...

I hope someone can help. Thank you,
    Alastair

Are you trying to copy/move it while iPhoto is open?
