iPad Digital A/V Adapter & TWC App

Does anyone know if the Time Warner Cable TV app works with the Digital A/V Adapter? i wanted to buy the adapter so my iPad 3rd Gen can be used to watch cable tv in a room without a cable box. I am seeing that there may be possible limitations and some apps not supporting mirroring. This information would be greatly appreciated.😀

I have the TWC TV app on my ipad mini and don't need any cables. It streams any of the channels to the ipad. I can also access my DVR.

I think they are wanting it on a bigger screen.
