Digital Ant in screen... iMac Tied to mail program

There is an ant roaming all over my screen, only when mail program is running. Also, something???? Is archiving all my emails, exponentially. I am not able to delete them faster than they replenish. Something going on with my mail program on iMac.
Luckily I have my internet and iPad.
I didn't think Macs could get bugs!
Help!!!!! I can't get into my mail program anymore without it repeating the archiving at increasingly faster paces.🙁
