So I went out and bought the Lightening Digital AV Adapter to connect my iPhone/iPad
to our LG Smart TV.

I keep losing the signal. No matter what I do, what I try, it will work for 2-3 minutes and like
clockwork, the signal goes away.
I've tried 3 different HDMI cables that I know work.
I've connected the HDMI cables to different HDMI inputs.
I've tried on different phones/ipads.
Nothing works.

iPhone 7 and iPad Pro, all with the latest iOS.

The adapter really that bad?
Is there anything I can do aside yell really loud?

Thanks.

Too late now but a Chromecast works well with a wi-fi network to send the audio and video from a phone, tablet, or laptop to a TV.

Sounds like there is a handshaking problem between the tv and the iOS device. Is there a firmware update for the TV?

Does the adapter do this on other tv's? If so, I think you narrowed it down to a broken/intermittent HDMI adapter.

I use my adaptor on all sorts of tv's (including LG) and haven't had any issues like you describe. (Sometimes hotel TV's have the HDMI ports disabled, but then it never works unlike you case where it works for a few minutes before failure.)

If you have an apple store nearby, I would make an appointment and take it in. I am not sure if the AppleCare warranty applies to accessories, but they can probably at least confirm the issue for sure.
