I'm trying to use standby mode to have a clock and the date. I've seen photos where there's a large digital clock display and a smaller calendar and temperature like this:

But for the life of me I can't figure out how to do it on my 12 Pro Max. All I get are analog clock faces. Any help?

Swipe right on the standby screen to toggle through different themes. When you see the large, single analog clock, then long press the screen and it will bring up the options to choose from.

That specific clock just flickers and then goes black for me on Beta 5. Worked fine on Beta 4.

Nevermind, it's working now. Dunno!

Thanks! I finally figured it out with your help.

Does this feature show notifications at all times like always on display? I want to use it but want to see my notifications as well

On my 13 mini, when a notification comes in, the screen lights up and it shows the notification. Then after a delay it goes black again. It doesn't always show notification details (sometimes only the app icon), not sure why, might be related to importance or something.

Why you have to be in standby mode to change this setting? Why can’t it be changed in Settings app? Highly incompetent “Diverse” public in dev team.

Intuitive Apple of Steve Jobs era is long gone

I just was cycling through the options to see that clock also and I am getting the flickering/blank screen issue.

Why do you feel the need to insult people when commenting on these betas? Isn't it enough to state that you would like to change the settings for Standby mode without being in Standby Mode (I share your desire for that)?

But, no, you have to throw in the "incompetent" dig.

For all you know, this was a completely intentional move on Apple's part for reasons you do not know or comprehend (perhaps because they might have something to do with the iPhone 15). The right thing to do is to file feedback requesting this change to the feature.
