What is your preference on your music collection. Do you prefer to have all your music on your pc and have no cds to save room in your house? Do you prefer to have the physical cd instead of just a copy that you ripped or d/l off iTunes Store?

I'm just curious on what peoples views are.

Buy CDs only. Mostly new, but sometimes used through eBay and other places.

Why?

• Sound quality
• No DRM
• Immediate master/archival copies
• Easily transferable to different media
• Larger range of less-mainstream music

To me, these qualities far outweigh any short-term convenience of using the iTMS.

If it's the occasional song I might like for a month or two I prefer to download off the iTMS.

For the majority of CDs, though, I would typically buy a physical copy and rip to iTunes: I like to encode at higher settings than the iTMS offers and I enjoy having a physical copy of the booklets.

It also gives me peace of mind for back up purposes (even though I do have a back up of the iTunes library on an external hard drive).
