My Wife has her own appleID that she shares with my Mother In Law.

When I receive Digital touch from my wife, I get my MILs name instead.

I know that most are going to say "don't share AppleID", etc, but its what we do. What makes no sense is the mixup in names.

Cheers

So you don't want us to tell you not to share Apple ID's, even if that's the most obvious solution to your problem? I don't think anyone here can fix your mistake.

You can be as defensive as you want. But one way or another, there will be problems with what you are doing. No one really cares if you want to fix the problem the right way or come up with your own way of fixing it. I can tell you that by doing it your way, there is no rational way to figure out what will and won't work.

There's absolutely no reason to share personal Apple IDs. Note that you can have a different app store Apple ID from your personal iCloud one if that was the main reason for doing it.

But sharing an Apple ID with more than one person invites tons of potential issues and there's no reason for doing it.

Family sharing is the answer

Thanks for the input guys.

Without setting up a different Apple ID, the solution was to

1. Select your phone number and apple ID in "Messages" on the iPhone
2. Select your phone number as "start conversations using"
3. Reboot Phone.

Thanks for the help!

Cheers
