When I send a digital touch to my husband it goes to him, but it also comes back to my watch as from me. Is there any way to fix this? Our phones are set up under separate apple ids, but are on family sharing.

Family sharing should have nothing to do with this error

I didn't really think it did, but the only other similar thread, the people were sharing an apple id, so I was just trying to provide the necessary information upfront. Thanks!

That other thread was mine.

I'm definitely confused on what it uses for digital touch.
My wife's watch isn't logged in with an Apple ID at all now and we still have issues. It's very strange.
I've started to think there may be a Contacts or other connection. I can't figure it out.

It is really strange, I keep going through my husbands and my contact info trying to figure out where the overlap is.

It's obviously not using iMessage, which is pretty surprising (and disappointing tbh).
