What’s confusing in the iPad line? Good, better and best.

Apple’s entire product line is confusing to the average person off the street.

I mean, if the rumours are true they’re about to launch the iPhone SE2, called iPhone 9, two years after the original iPhone X.

So digitimes is tripling down on this rumor.... Aren't they the only ones reporting this? and haven't a few sources dispelled it?

I’ve had my AirPods for about 2½ years and the battery life in the ear pieces is rapidly fading. I listen to music for 10 minutes and they drop 20%.

This is their weak Li-ion spot and not easy to fix. With iPhones we can swap the batteries for about 1/10th of the iPhone’s price. With AirPods the current best solution is just giving them back to Apple to recycle and getting a new pair.

There could be 3 levels...
1. Airpod Pro
2. Airpod Pro Lite with the ANC feature using passive cancellation using foam tips which works on existing (passive) noise cancellation earphones from competitors
3. Airpod

But why not just eliminate the Airpods and push the Airpod Pro Lite downward so there's only 2 levels, with passive noise cancellation and move some functions to the iPhone to keep prices down?

why does it matter if they have three versions of the AirPods? Does that affect you personally in some form or fashion? Having more options gives consumers more choice in terms of price point of what they can afford and/or what they might be interested in terms of technology. Creating more options creates diversity for a ‘wider selection’, I’m not seeing how that’s an issue whatsoever.

Because it cannibalizes sales for the higher end model. Much of the time middle price point products do that. That’s product sales 101 kiddo. Having an entry level price point along with a high end price point much of the times accommodates buyers. But what do I know.

Surely there is a desire for some of the features to be available in a lesser package, but I think ANC is the biggest seller for the Pros (I'd assume that's the cause of the vacuum effect you mentioned). Perhaps an AirPods 3 using the old design but with improved talkative and IPX4 rating would be a good compromise.

I would imagine noise cancellation is also essentially free (it's just software).
If I were looking to save money, what I'd cut would be the wireless charging. How many people use that? (I certainly don't, don't even have a wireless charging mat.) Would they be willing to give it up to save $40 to $50?

Apple needs to make AirPods auto switch to device you're using and not have to connect it manually.
I don't care the material on the eartips..they don't seem to stay in as well as others and Apple neing Apple had to make their own unique ear tip so you can't just pull some off a pair of earbuds that you like..someone needs to make an adapter to let you put those round holes eartips on the aripods

I really don’t know what features you could add to an AirPods 3 at this point, other than better battery life and improved sound quality.

I own the original AirPods but I need to tape Nexcare pieces to make them stay in my ears. I loved the old Apple In-Ear EarPods so I was excited for the AirPods Pro hoping for a similar in-ear design. Unfortunately they are too pricey since they also have ANC which I don't need. I would buy them if they were cheaper and without ANC.

And mini? Where does that fit in? Between good and better?

What’s “confusing” in a smaller sized device? It’s smaller.

When one size fitted all, not ok. Now that every consumer can find a fitting offer, not ok.You guys are extenuating.

It’s confusing because its smaller and pricier than the larger sized iPad.

AirPods Pro Lite? How about just AirPods. I don't see any reason for a middle option. The price difference would be minimal between the three.
This "rumor" sounds more like FUD from competitors to attempt to slow down Apple's sales.

And the iPhone 11 Pro is smaller and pricier than than the larger sized iPhone 11. It’s almost as if screen size isn’t the only spec that matters 🤷‍♂️

Apple has plenty of info on their website that can help you with your confusion; here’s one:

I think this is what is going to happen.
AirPods Pro
AirPods ??? (no way they're going to call them Pro Lite) without ANC, but with an in-ear design that will provide some sound isolation
AirPods

some people prefer the design of classic AirPods, others like me like the in-ear more. AirPods pro are expensive, so I think there is a market for an in-ear version at a lower price and since they'd need to cut some features I guess they won't have transparency mode and ANC. They could even sell them without the Qi charging case, only Lighting.

Airpods Pro Lite would be embarrassing. Even if they renamed the latest models as Airpods 2020 that would make more sense, like they have done with multiple instances of iPad.

and what’s “confusing” in this? If you have the need for a small iPad here it is, at this price. Are you arguing consumers would be better off without that option?
