DirectIM in Adium/iChat??

I can't connect with Adium at all, and iChat shows up with a dead-link'd picture whenever Im connected to AIM. Is there a way I can accept pictures from people on AIM??

I haven't had any luck with it. Parts of Adium still need work. I only use Adium on my PowerBook - I find it too quirky to use fulltime.
