Can anyone get the DirecTV Apple Watch up to work consistently? If so, what your trick?
On a separate note can you get the iOS 9 widget to work?

I haven't had any luck with the directv app - I actually uninstalled it on the watch. I didn't realize they had a widget for the phone - I will have to test that...

UPDATE - i just installed the DirecTV widget and it doesn't work - says it can't find an internet connected receiver even though my phone is on the same network and I'm literally sitting in the next room???

Cheers,
B

Thanks for checking. I do appreciate it. Hopefully they get it working.

Mine works great! Keep in mind that only the HD DVRs that are connected to the network can be controlled from the app.

Totally forgot to mention Genies, they should work, but take my words with a grain of salt as I do not own one.

Hmm, thus far my experience is that the primary DVR works just fine as far as the pulldown widget and the Apple Watch app. However, I have found that the satellite genies, which are wireless on the (WVB) do not work. I guess I'll have to call DirecTV to see if that's the way it's supposed to be or not. Although I have no faith in their customer service at this point.

The DirecTV and Genie Go Apps are a crapshoot. Completely unreliable. You never know when all the downloaded content will disappear when you are out of the home - happens often. For example, today Dec 9 , 2015 both Apps are unusable for DVR content. DirecTV tells me it is systemwide issue. They are blaming iOS 9.2 - but my iPhone is not upgraded yet and the iPad upgraded early yesterday functioned with 9.2 until today. They have no clue (again) what is going on.

Damn, that sucks. AT&T U-verse was generally pretty reliable. Perhaps the merger will improve DirecTV's shortcomings.

it works most of the time for me .. from time to time it will bring up the receive in the bedroom instead of the living room, so i have to open the app on the phone to change the receiver and then it starts working again

Do you have Genies? My problem is that it only brings up one receiver even though I have three TVs in the house. I have one primary receiver and then two satellite genies that can pull content from the primary DVR. The app can only ever see the primary DVR.
