This is Apple opportunity to take over the streaming TV service market.

DirecTV Sat service increase was even worse. They tried to bump my mom from $79/mo to $108/mo for basic one tv limited channels and after a post complaint on their FB page and they pm me and we were able to negotiate a new deal that was even better than what we were paying. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Give me a DirecTV Now branded remote with physical buttons, the same interface as DirecTV satellite and ALL the same On Demand options as DirecTV Satellite (or better) and I'd use this. Oh, and 100+ hours of DVR storage. Oh, and 4K channels.

Jeez, might as well just get cable for that price...probably their goal since theyre losing so many cable customers

Im still on sling for $25/month for the package I have and it has most of the channels I need. I can deal with $25/month. But I'm sure theyll be raising soon too since Direct is...

What a stupid move. Their service is already lacking in the technical aspects which is why I left. And now they expect you to pay even more for it? What is even worse to me though is they are taking something that once was simple, and making it totally complex with different tiers and rates for different customers. It’s nonsense.

They apparently have never heard of the KISS principle.

YouTube TV will probably announce a price increase now.

I sure hope not as that is where I ended up after leaving DTVN.

I've been drinking their kool-aid since the beginning. I can't find it listed anywhere but if this hits the original grandfathered accounts I'm out. This is the end of my 2+ yrs with them.

I'm grandfathered as well with GoBig for a discount so time to think long and hard.

I will stick with it for $45- $50 a month. If it goes up again, I have no problem using my home server all the time. With close to 30TB of tv and movies, I could stay busy for the rest of my life.

For the last 8 months since I canceled my subscription, I've been happy streaming Netflix or following a couple of favorite streamers on Twitch and that satisifies my viewing desires.

I've always hated the concept of paying for commercials with shows interspersed inbetween them.

and their stupid app is still buggy. same old bugs have existed for several months. i've reported so many times but zero fixes so far (i'm not even talking about the beta DVR). i'm done.

Wow, AT&T just really doesn't want to keep me as a customer. When they wouldn't budge on my cell plan price to come close to T-Mobile plans, I dropped my decade+ old cell plan with them. When they destroyed the cable bundle at the junction box out back and were 6 months+ and counting trying to repair it, I dropped my internet with them. Now they are going to raise the price again on the grandfathered DTVN plan that is stuffed to the gills with ads, clumsy navigation (numbers may have been lame, but at least I could go directly to channels), and an unusable cloud DVR. I guess I'll be fully disconnected from AT&T soon.

Fully disconnecting from AT&T is akin to disconnecting from the Matrix.

There’s really no point in getting rid of cable anymore. Streaming is getting just as expensive. The cost of streaming + internet is about the same as a cable + internet bundle.

Smart company ATT , pricing yourself right out of business.

Predictable result of cord cutting. In time, the cost will be the same or more than cable is now, but more hassle.

Welp. That sucks. Guess I’m switching. Which is better — PlayStation or YouTube TV?

There tech support didn't even know about the price increase and claimed that there was no such thing...

that was easy!

Cancelled on the spot!

Back to Netflix/Hulu !!

I don’t have any problems with DirecTV Now’s service, but live tv just isn’t worth that much to me - even with the discount I get as an AT&T wireless customer. I’ll be canceling as soon as I get notified of the increase to my plan.

Unless you switch to the new Plus or Max plans (which would cause you to lose Viacom, Discovery, A&E, AMC, etc.) you still have to pay $5 for HBO.

It'll be $55 a month, *shakes my head*

tbh i'm not sure where teh HBO came from - i remember that there was a year free and then they conspicuously turned it off. but i just checked the other day and it is back, yet i'm paying $45 for go big. when i log in the current plan page is asking me to verify my mobile number to get free HBO... but i already have it. and HBO is offered at the bottom of the page for $5 extra so... maybe the fact that i have HBO is a bug in their database. or maybe they added it when they bumped the original go big customers up by $10??

Thanks for the heads up MR! I was on the verge of cancelling and this is the tipping point. I already give AT&T enough of my money with my iPhone plans. Bye DTVN! Sling TV has a very similar channel offering and they're running a special of $15 a month for the first three months.
