just saw a commercial about this new deal they have where not only do you get "unlimited" data by being a wireless and tv subscriber, but now your streaming of directv doesn't count against your data.

Is this the future without net neutrality?

T-Mobile has been doing it with net neutrality so what's the difference? AT&T is just doing it with something they happen to own.

Right, on busy cell towers during peak times.
So maybe they mean this direct tv data streaming doesn't count at all towards that soft cap.

Thats what I understood from the ad.

The difference between what Tmo is doing is that they are allowing you to limit bandwidth usage of streaming services to 480p. These services are not owned by tmobile. And as far as I know, tmobile doesnt get any compensation from youtube for example.

With AT&T they're saying "oh you want to use netflix? that'll count against your data, but use one of our other services and it wont!"
