Disable AIM sounds?

Why is that I'm still getting the incredibly annoying new message sound from AIM when I have them turned off in the options?

Is there a way (other than putting my phone on vibrate) to get rid of them for good?

Go to the preferences in the AIM app and disable the sounds. That should probably get it to stop.
