Disable digital crown

I've damaged my series two watch slightly. For months the digital crown has not worked, which is fine I've learn to live without it. Then all of sudden its started working again but it continually scrolls down. This means the screen never goes off so my battery is only lasting a few hours.

Does anyone know if its possible to just turn off the crown from working at all?

Not possible. There is no setting on watch or phone to disable the crown

The crown is one of the primary input devices of the watch - it can't be disabled.
Might be worth looking into repairs or a new AW

Have you looked closely at the base of the knob? I had a problem where the crown was hard to press. Turned out to be dirt build up. I used small dental brush for getting in between teeth with mild soap and water to clean around the crown where it meets the case. Problem solved.
