Is there a better way to disable/enable hyperthreading On macOS Mojave
back in macOS Sierra I had CPU Setter app for doing it but it doesn't work properly with Mojave 10.14.6
so I need a better way
any suggestion?

my question is just the opposite, some time ago I found instructions using google to turn off hyperthreading.
Now I'd like to turn hyperhreading back on for a test run, but cannot locate any instructions.
Anyone familiar with the method?

Edit: solved my issue using the "brute-force" method.
reset NVRAM...
hyperthreading is now enabled, so I can get on with my tests...:)

Hyper threading has negative effect in latency and performance in audio production
in my experience it's only useful when offline processing/exporting

On the DUC forum, the general consensus that it's a much improvement with hyper threading turned off, well in Pro Tools that is.
I would like to disable it permanently in terminal if anyone can help ?

*Thanks mark*, very interesting reading and I'm going to try it out on a session next weekend to see how its runs @ 32samples on Pro Tools 2020.5.

32samples ran flawlessly when I was on PT9 vanilla at 32bit PT, so I would think now at 64bit it would be twice as efficient.

Also being able to revert back gives comfort, and not having to reset on the CPU setter app. seems easier.
