Disable finder's preview column?

How can I disable the preview column in the Finder's column view?
I did some research and found only out that it was possible in OS X 10.1, is there any way to do this in Tiger?

Well, in Tiger you can press COMMAND-J to get the View Options and then uncheck Show Preview Column. 🙂
