<<shudder>>

Stupid friggin' Game Center has made Chess unplayable on my MacBook. As soon as I open Chess, GC auto-opens. But even worse, once I close it, a couple seconds later it forces itself to re-open!

I don't want to connect to this stupid platform, and I just want to play offline. Not to mention that I don't even have an Internet connection most of the time anyway.

Someone, please, tell me how I can give Game Center the horrible death it deserves. Thank you.

I really don't know. It doesn't do that to me. But let me give you a few ideas.

Is Game Center signed into your AppleID? Try signing out.
Is Chess listed under the Games tab? If so, remove it.

Game Center is not connected to anything. I've literally never used it. It pops open with a login screen showing my E-mail address, and I go nuh-uh and quit. Don't tell me I have to actually sign up to the stupid thing and then manage the account from there? The whole point is I don't want to be in it at all.

Thanks, everyone! I found that Terminal business before, but I'm too scared to muck around those parts (and haven't backed up in a while).

Also, I wish it was as easy as the iOS tip, but on MacBook it seems to work differently?
