Disable Headphone jack Audio start-up

Does anyone know how to disable the iOS 9 feature where plugging in your headphone jack automatically make Music or Podcasts pop up on the lock screen when nothing is playing? It's annoying because 9 times out of 10, I don't need that much hand holding and I just end up playing music for a while in my pocket without realizing it.

not 100% sure as the appearance of music controls are a slightly different to other examples of this feature but try turning off Suggested Apps in Settings General

Settings > iTunes & App Stores

Disable "installed apps"
