Hi all,
I bought the iPhone 6 mainly based on advantages of its new camera possibilities as I do a lot of street photography. However the relocated power button completely ruines the experience for me. Everytime I want to push volume button to take a photo or a TouchID, i touch the power button which send the phone to sleep. Maybe I am holding it wrong, but this inconvenience begins to rather rattle me a lot. Instead of focusing on picture, I have to focus on how I hold the phone, which takes time and precaution because its location is such that you always touch it when taking photos horizontally.
I am wondering if i can disable it temporarily.

Why not use a case and tape off the sleep/wake button?

It is in a case. However, the button is very sensitive. Even with a case, it does trigger sleep. Taping off inside a case is not possible (tight case) and I doubt it will help

id suggest to find a case that is "bulky" enough and won't have a secondary button built into the case itself, making the power/sleep button recessed...

I know what you mean, it happens to me when I spin the phone upside down from horizontal into a weird upside down grip. If you take photos often you'll know what I mean as its a natural move, but now its so easy to press the lock button. I think they only put it there because of the protruding camera. Lock button on top would look weird in combination with the protruding camera. It sucks. I'd guess Steve Jobs wasn't around to say no or maybe he even ok'd the design years ago who knows outside of apples inner circle. But yes it sucks where it is. Did no one use it or just said **** it?

It's perfect for your thumb but it's also perfect for accidental presses when using volume!
